“Created as an immersive, theatre-like experience, the exhibition invited visitors to step into the showcase, with thematic exhibits capturing Singapore’s unique cultural imprint across music, film, television, fashion, language, and beloved culinary staples.”
Opening with an introduction to Singapore’s history, the exhibition began with RojakLane – a vibrant landscape of the nation’s multifaceted cultural heritage, featuring dioramas of architectural landmarks and symbols of diverse ethnic communities. The vibrant heart of the exhibition, RojakLand, opened up to a Gazebo surrounded by a boldly coloured cityscape facade before leading into individual thematic experiences.
The visitors can look forward to immersive showcases featuring iconic national costumes from the past beauty pageants, a room with cultural relics dedicated to Singapore’s National Day Parade and a giant vintage jutebox with a selection of generational hits.
The SingaMakan exposition held a special place within the exhibition, with a recreation of the hawker centre scene. From the iconic Singaporean dishes to the familiar details of food street stalls, the showcase featured interactive games that allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the hawker experience.
