With the Lunar New Year celebrations in full bloom, the festive decorations at Marina Bay Sands captivated visitors with their grandeur and intricacy. Lavish displays, rich in tradition and symbolism, created an atmosphere of joy and prosperity, enhancing the spirit of the festival.
At the heart of the display, Chinese calligraphy couplets cascaded in elegant silhouettes, forming a chandelier of blessings that extended into unique installations across the property. A closer look revealed intricate surfaces adorned with even more blessings, as radiant red strokes shaped auspicious characters – 福 (Fu, Fortune), 春 (Chun, Spring), 吉 (Ji, Luck), and 發 (Fa, Prosperity). Complementing the showcase were delicate zodiac displays, crafted to resemble traditional calligraphy scrolls.

“Celebrations for the Year of the Snake unfolded with festive splendour last evening at Marina Bay Sands, unveiling a spectacular display over the Grand Colonnade South.”
Auspicious blessings filled the Grand Colonnade South, with layered characters forming gentle chandeliers of festive greetings. Crafted and affixed individually, they followed silhouettes reminiscent of a Snake – the lucky zodiac of the year. Complementing the chandelier displays, unique décor installations extended across the resort, coming together to form an illustrious backdrop for the festive season of the Lunar New Year.
The presentation of the concept went beyond the expected, fusing a close-knit surface of characters read in blessings into a unified installation. Together, each of them formed an auspicious composition on their own. Finished in a striking glossy red, the letters were affixed to each other and complemented with a series of suspended charms.
